Chungking  Hotel  is  one  of the oldest hotels in Chongqing. Its location was once the Chuanyan Bank during the anti-Japanese war period (1937-1945). It became a joint venture with Hong Kong’s Fahua Limited and  Chongqing's first star hotel opened to foreign visitors in 1987. It was renovated into a four-star international hotel in 2007.
